School opening hours

Barkston & Syston CE Primary School is open Monday - Friday from 08:45am - 3:20pm. School is open for a total of 32 hours and 30 minutes per week.

Protocol for contacting school.

When parents have a query relating to their child at school they often feel that the best course of action is to speak to the Headteacher. However, it is often the case that other members of staff are better placed to resolve queries as they are more familiar with your child and their situation. 

When you have a query, to enable us to solve it as quickly as possible please first contact the school office. You can do this in person at drop-off or collection times, by calling 01400 250553, or by email to enquiries@barkstonsyston.lincs.sch.uk. You are likely to be asked to give some information to enable the office staff to help you or direct you to the most appropriate person. The more information you give, the more quickly we are able to help.

Please be aware that most members of staff are unlikely to be available at short notice but your message will be passed on to them and you will get a reply as soon as we are able. We will always try to be as flexible as possible when arranging telephone calls or meetings with parents but the teaching, learning and operational commitments of the school staff will take priority, unless the query is safeguarding related.

If you have a Safeguarding concern during school hours you should make this clear to the staff member you are speaking to. If you have a safeguarding concern outside of school hours you should contact the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership on 01522 782333.
